our Sustainability partnership

Partnership with
Enlightened Soil Corp

Gene Morris Company is focused on sustainability and has partnered with Enlightened Soil Corp to develop a robust regenerative supply chain program.  The partnership will empower producers in the effective and profitable implementation of management practices that prioritize soil health. Not only does this support healthy soils but it also improves the yields and allows for high-quality production of produce.

Gene Morris Company and Enlightened Soil Corp are committed to sustainable growth with these goals:
  1. We are dedicated to improved soil quality and health, especially in ecosystems where the soil is depleted.
  2. We support enhanced soil fertility and crop productivity without the use of synthetic-chemical fertilizers.
  3. We promote plant resistance to common pathogens through healthier soil.
  4. We work to increase the ability of soil to retain water and organic matter.
  5. We work to provide an alternative to synthetic-chemical NPK fertilizers in order to protect coasts, rivers, and lakes from nutrient runoff and harmful algae bloom.
  6. We collaborate with individuals, organizations, and companies with similar goals.
  7. We strive for production processes that are carbon neutral.

Enlightened Soil's Product, EnSoil Algae™
EnSoil Algae™ is a soil-amending bio-stimulant made from living Chlorella vulgaris. Applied at just 8 oz per acre, it rapidly builds soil biodiversity and improves crop production, allowing farmers to reduce chemical inputs for fertility, pest, and disease management. What sets EnSoil Algae™ apart is its live cells, which can survive for at least 6 months in darkness. As an NPK alternative, it boosts microbial activity, nutrient uptake, and photosynthesis, while increasing resilience to drought, salinity, and pathogens. Backed by over 40 years of research, EnSoil Algae™ is a simple first step away from chemical dependency and towards healthier soils and higher yields.
EnSoil Algae™ is registered and licensed for sale in all 50 states with each State Department of Agriculture. It is also OMRI-listed in both the U.S. and Canada for use in organic growing.  It has been studied in 48 states, 11 countries, on 4 continents.  The product's performance has been remarkably compelling and consistent across a wide variety of soil types, climates, and cropping systems.  Approval processes for the European Union, the United Kingdom, the African Continent, Mexico, Central, and South America are in the final stages of review with approvals expected by year end.
